Life On A Dead Planet

One Wedding And A Funeral

Not too exciting a day today. You can have those occasionally, life's not a James Bond film after all.

It was one of those rare days with four seasons in one afternoon. One minute the sun shines, the next the sky is black and heavy with angry clouds dumping rain and hail on us.

This morning we heard more about the lady from two doors up dying. All very sad, apparently she'd been dead for a few days before her family grew concerned when they'd not heard from her for a while. The went around to the house and found here there. She wasn't even that old, and I saw her on Monday when she was taking the bins out. Just goes to show how quickly it can all change.

Later on in the morning our other neighbour asked if we'd be witnesses at their wedding at the end of April. Of course we agreed, so there's that to look forward to.

In the afternoon K. and myself went to town; she had to bring back a few things, and also buy a new case for her Mac Neo. It's such a lovely computer, and, if it wasn't for the fact that I need a laptop for games, I'd buy one myself. They're not even all that expensive.

I bought two pairs of jeans I didn't need but they're to replace the pair I bought at the outlet store a few weeks back. I like my jeans to not be baggy, or at least not to have a lot of fabric flapping around my ankle so I usually go for jeans that are, as Led Zeppelin once described themselves, →tight but loose.

Trouble is, I have muscly calves, so anything like that begins to look like skinny jeans, and God knows only wankers wear skinny jeans. But anyway, found a pair in H&M that ticked all the boxes, and then I found another pair and because I have this mental disease that makes it impossible for me to buy only one of something, I ended up with two.

Jesus, this is all so random.

We had lunch in town, and then back home. Later in the day I went to the tennis club to say farewell to my tennis coach, he'd been coaching now for 42 years. Just let that sink in. To think I was 13 when he started doing that. I brought a small gift - a book - and stayed for the free drink but as I don't really know that many people there I snuck out, in as much as anyone can sneak out wearing a salmon coloured hoody and a bright blue kagool. I went over to the hockey club (somewhere else I used to spend a lot of time when the kids still played) that borders the tennis club to catch the final ten minutes of the game playing on field 1, but then the sky turned black and the hail came so I went home.

Then had the daily nightmare of thinking of something to eat for dinner. I wasn't really hungry, but there's the others to cook for. In the end I made rice with chicken, my standby meal for when I can't think of anything else. It was actually alright, as it turned out.

After dinner, I helped book a walking holiday for C. and K. in Germany at the end of May, and I also spent some time looking up things to do in London. Unbelievable to think I'll be there this time next week. I'm really looking forward to going!

Also tinkered around with the site a bit more, changing font sizes, playing about with having an actual 'Home' page, or to go for a more Twitter-esque feed using the →'Notes'' page.

Tonight we're going to watch the →Peaky Blinders film once K. is ready.

And that was my day. Like I said, not too exciting.

Oh, and this has probably been my most 'Dear Diary' post ever, but I enjoyed writing it even though it was a bit all over the place in places, as is my way; I've been told before that I'm vague and often pointless.

Anyway, I do try my best.

Tight, but loose, you might say.

Right, that's yer lot for today, time you went. Your dinner will be getting cold.
